Under the Giant Christmas Tree at Araneta Center
Each year, the Araneta Foundation brings children and children’s books publishers together under the Giant Christmas Tree. About a month before everyone’s favorite holiday, on November 30, 2019 — and also Bonifacio Day — CANVAS joined the advance Christmas party and donated 500 copies of Karapat Dapat and 500 copies of a mix of CANVAS books to Quezon City Public Schools and children’s communities that the Araneta Foundation supports.
There were carnival rides, free snacks, and a series of live story-tellings on stage. Kuya Rich Rodriguez performed Ang Aklatang Pusa* with various actions, dances, and sound effects, much to the enjoyment of the young audience.
Truly, books and stories have the power to bring communities together.
