Binuangan Kids Treasure their New Books
May 5, 2023 – Barangay Binuangan Batac, Bataan
Equipped with a new bookshelf and CANVAS books, children’s literacy advocate organization Project Dapat Aklat made its way to the community in Binuangan.
The eyes of the kids lit up when they saw the bookshelf and boxes of books. Each child received a copy of “Karapat Dapat”, our book on human rights. They understood the value of these gifts very well, handling their books with great care. They mindfully took a book, leafed through its pages, then put it back on the bookshelf.
At the end of the event, one child approached a member of Project Dapat Aklat, saying “Thank you po dito, Ate Pat.” The children weren’t the only ones expressing their gratitude in different ways; their parents tearfully watched them receive their own books.
Our One Million Books for One Million Children campaign has made an impact on both children and organizations we partner with. Whenever our books find their way into a child’s hands, we are humbled to see all the hearts touched in the process. Thank you, Project Dapat Aklat!
